Plan on Learning
Classroom instruction is the crux of Powerful Teaching and Learning. Plan for it by creating smart leson plans using tools with built-in instructional strategies.
1. Commit to Change
Using Commitment to Change, participants will select Strategies to apply and will begin to develop a lesson plan using the STAR Lesson Planning Template or the online STAR Lesson Planner.
2. Identify Strategies
Teachers will first plan for pedagogy, identifying new strategies to implement for each Indicator, and fill in lesson content afterward. The STAR Lesson Planning Guide is a good tool for quick planning.
3. Create a Lesson Plan
The STAR Lesson Planner is provided as a free tool to help you implement Powerful Teaching and Learning using the STAR Frameworkâ˘. Use the online tool to help you create your lesson plans. You can also create groups for sharing lessons.
If you're a paper-person, the STAR Lesson Planning Template can be used in conjunction with the STAR Lesson Planning Guide to develop a lesson plan.
4. Reflect and Share
After delivering your lesson, take some time to reflect on how it went. Add notes to your lesson plan and share it with others.
